Energis® is a multifunctional energy controller that reduces motor energy consumption by up to 50% during idle periods (5 to 7% on average over the entire motor operating period) by adapting motor torque to the driven load, achieved by varying the voltage across the motor terminals.

It features a powerful microprocessor that continuously measures the resisting torque and adjusts the motor torque accordingly by acting on the voltage level across the motor terminals.

The voltage is varied in steps between 400V and 200V, and vice versa. This technology does not require the use of power electronic components and therefore generates no harmonic pollution. An input filter even improves the voltage waveform supplied to the motor, reducing the level of harmonic distortion at its terminals. This helps to reduce heating and vibrations, extending the motor’s lifespan.

The same principle is used to provide the “starter” function, which can be supplied as an option (to be specified when ordering the Energis® energy saver).

Energis® can be connected both in line with the motor and inside the motor’s delta connection. The latter mode allows for a power upgrade of the energy saver by 44% but requires modifying the motor’s wiring.

When connected in line with the motor, the Energis® energy saver, on the other hand, does not require any modification to the installation. It’s a true plug-and-play solution.
