FIPRES
Fire Prevention System

    Description

Each capacitor is equipped with a vFPT (Visual FIRE PREVENTION THERMOLABEL) label, allowing for easy visual inspection to determine if the capacitor has exceeded its maximum operating temperature (60°C). In this case, a more thorough check of the capacitor’s capacity should be performed to ensure the need for replacement.

The operating principle is simple: once the temperature limit is reached (60°C), the indicator mark on the label will irreversibly change color to black.

This solution improves control reliability because, unlike thermal imaging, the vFPT not only detects overheating at the time of inspection.

This protection can be optionally complemented by installing several rFPT (remote FIRE PREVENTION THERMOLABEL) labels at connection points of contacts and on electrical wires potentially subject to overheating.

When an rFPT label is heated to the activation temperature (100°C), it emits a signaling gas detected by a sensor placed inside the compensation panel, which activates a “dry contact” (TOR output) instructing the varmetric regulator to stop all steps or triggering the general protection circuit breaker. Additionally, it transmits its operating mode (READY, ALARM, ERROR) via a Modbus RS485 communication port.

In addition, rFPT labels are equipped with three thermo-indication points calibrated at 50°C, 70°C, and 90°C. When the contact/wire is heated above the thermo-indication temperature, the point irreversibly changes its color to black.
