RCMI-01& 03
1A Measurement Converter for Rogowski Coils
The Rogowski coil signal converter provides an instantaneous output signal of 1 A to replace conventional current transformers. It comes in two versions: RCMI-01 for a single Rogowski coil and RCM-03 for three-phase applications, with 3 Rogowski coils.

Description
A Rogowski coil transforms the measured current signal into a voltage signal of several tens of millivolts (mV). To ensure compatibility with standard measuring devices (electrical measurement units, energy meters, varmetric regulators, etc.), which typically have current measurement inputs of 1A or 5A, it is necessary to use a converter like the RCMI type. This converter not only transforms the output signal from the Rogowski coils from a voltage signal to a current signal ranging from 0 to 1A but also serves as a signal integrator by correcting the phase shift of the passive Rogowski coil by 90 degrees.
The RCMI-01 converter can be used with one Rogowski coil, while the RCMI-03 converter can handle 3 Rogowski coils simultaneously. However, a 12V DC power supply is required for the operation of these two models, and they are mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail.
How does the RCMI converter work?
The integration function of the RCMI converter is essential to balance the output signal of the Rogowski coils and shift it by 90°. The integrator consists of an active electronic circuit with negligible offset and good linearity. The output voltage signal from the Rogowski coil is converted into a standard 1 A signal.
The output voltage signal from the passive Rogowski coil is proportional to the frequency of the measured current. The equalizer installed ensures a linear signal to the primary current over a wide frequency range.
When ordering in conjunction with the RCM Rogowski coil, the primary nominal current must be specified. This results in a fixed transformation ratio, similar to a standard transformer. For example, 1000/1 A: The main measurement range of 0 to 1000 A is mapped to the secondary measurement range of 0 to 1 A.
